Edo State’s newly inaugurated Governor, Monday Okpebholo, shared insights from his campaign journey, attributing his electoral success to his faith and the support of the people. At a Thanksgiving Service held at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, Governor Okpebholo described the election process as a spiritual and personal battle, ultimately won through his trust in God.
Reflecting on his campaign strategy, Okpebholo emphasized his focus on prayer rather than reliance on social media or televised appearances, which his opponents prioritized. He recounted a significant moment following his victory, where he found a dead bat on his bed—a sign he interpreted as divine intervention. “I won the battle through the hand of God,” he said, encouraging citizens to “trust in God alone.”
Governor Okpebholo concluded by expressing gratitude to the religious leaders and supporters who believed in his vision, attributing his victory to their collective faith and resilience.
