Governor Otti Responds to Kalu’s 2027 Election Threat

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has responded to Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu’s claim that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will take over the state in the 2027 election. Governor Otti expressed disappointment in Kalu’s statement, describing it as sad and unnecessary.

Otti, a member of the Labour Party, advised Kalu, who represents Bende Federal Constituency, to wait until 2027 before making such claims. In response to Kalu’s remarks, Otti’s Chief Press Secretary, Ukoha Njoku, said that the people of Abia State will ultimately decide the outcome in 2027, noting that the statement would be amusing if it weren’t so serious.
