The Initiative for Better and Brighter Nigeria (IBBN) has called on President Bola Tinubu to reduce government expenditure and cut the overall cost of governance. In a press briefing in Jos, Prophet Isa El-Buba, IBBN’s Convener, criticized the President, National Assembly members, and their associates for their lavish lifestyles amidst widespread economic hardship in Nigeria.
El-Buba praised the peaceful nature of ongoing protests but condemned recent violence and loss of life. He urged leaders to engage with citizens’ demands for reduced government spending and to address the severe economic challenges facing the nation. The group specifically called for an end to excessive spending on projects like a new presidential jet and renovations, urging Tinubu to focus on reducing fuel costs and tackling corruption. El-Buba reaffirmed the commitment to non-violent protests until significant changes are made.
