Gunmen Invade Kwara Community, Son Killed, Mother Kidnapped

AbdulRasheed Alafara and two of his siblings were shot dead by suspected gunmen in Kwara State, and their mother was then kidnapped.
According to information provided by our correspondent, the event happened on Tuesday night at around 10:00 pm in the Kwara State local government area of Asa, in the Alalubosa community of Okoolowo.
The claimed invasion of the village by the AK-47-wielding kidnappers, who numbered around six, was met with intermittent shooting.

While this was happening, many locals who were outside relaxing ran for their lives.

Alafara was reportedly first shot in the leg before being fatally macheted as he tried to flee.
The two other victims, siblings of the deceased Semiat Mukaila and Abdullahi, are reportedly undergoing treatment for gunshot wounds at an unidentified facility.
Abdullahi, one of the victims, spoke about the incident and said that they ran their operation for approximately 30 minutes before “the vigilantes who later confronted them killed one during an exchange of gunfire.”

They kidnapped our mother, killed my brother, and severely hurt two other siblings, he said. The Magaji, our father, escaped. However, it was the vigilantes who arrived quickly in response to our request and killed one while also saving our mother.
He said, “We called the police about 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, but they didn’t show up until around 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, several hours later.
In order to increase the state’s security, he urged the government to arm the vigilantes.

The incident was confirmed by Ajayi Okasanmi SP, the state police command’s spokesman. “A team of policemen were already at the scene,” he added.
