Although Erling Haaland’s goal-scoring rate has slowed down to a more conventional level, he still managed to reach another milestone during Manchester City’s 2-2 draw with Brighton on Saturday.
By converting a penalty in the match, Haaland achieved his 100th Premier League goal contribution—goals and assists combined—in just his 94th game.

The previous record was held by Alan Shearer, who took exactly 100 matches to reach the same feat.
Haaland, who signed with Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund for £51.2 million in June 2022, joins Shearer as the only two players to achieve this milestone in their third Premier League season.
Shearer, however, had already played several seasons in the old First Division, which do not count towards this record.

Several other legendary players, including Sergio Aguero, Thierry Henry, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Les Ferdinand, and Matt Le Tissier, reached 100 goal involvements in their fourth Premier League season.
Eric Cantona, Mohamed Salah (counting his earlier stint with Chelsea), and Andy Cole required five seasons to achieve the same milestone. Harry Kane, on the other hand, took six seasons, though his first campaign saw him make just one appearance.

Of Haaland’s 100 goal contributions in the Premier League, 84 have been goals, while 16 are assists.
Among those who reached this milestone, only former Tottenham striker Harry Kane provided fewer assists before hitting the 100 mark, with just 13.
On the other end of the spectrum, Eric Cantona—who played for Leeds and Manchester United—had the highest number of assists before reaching 100 goal involvements, registering 42. Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier followed closely with 38.

Since joining Manchester City, Haaland has won the Premier League Golden Boot in both of his first two seasons.
This season, however, he has scored 20 goals in 27 appearances, placing him seven goals behind Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah. Additionally, Salah has contributed 17 assists, whereas Haaland has only three.
Haaland had an explosive start to the current campaign, scoring 10 goals in his first five matches—making it the best start to an English top-flight season since Aston Villa’s Pongo Waring achieved a similar feat in 1930.

So far this season, the Norwegian forward has averaged a goal or assist every 103 minutes in the Premier League. This is a significant drop from his first season, where he contributed every 63 minutes, and his second, where he did so every 80 minutes.
Haaland has found the most success in Premier League matches against Manchester United, scoring six goals and assisting three times in just five appearances.
Against West Ham, he has netted nine times in six matches but has yet to register an assist.

He also boasts an impressive record against Wolves, with eight goal contributions in five games, as well as Crystal Palace (six in four), Fulham (six in five), and Brighton (six in five).
Now, Haaland’s next major milestone is reaching 100 Premier League goals.
Alan Shearer currently holds the record for the fastest to reach the mark, having scored his 100th goal for Blackburn Rovers in just 124 appearances.
With 30 games remaining to reach the century mark, Haaland needs only 16 more goals to surpass Shearer’s record.
