President Bola Tinubu is holding an emergency meeting with all of the federation’s governors, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FTC), Chief Nyesom Wike, and other stakeholders.
Vice President Kashim Shettima is also attending the meeting, which began about 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.
The discussion, held in the Council Chambers of the State House in Abuja, is not unrelated to the country’s security and economic difficulties.
According to reports, the Federal Government has begun releasing tonnes of various grains into the market in order to increase food availability, affordability, and accessibility across the country.
Similarly, steps have been implemented to combat escalating criminal activity through collaboration between the armed forces and other paramilitary formations.
Following the meeting with the governors, President Tinubu is slated to depart for the African Union summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
African leaders will assemble in Addis Abeba for the annual summit, which will address the continent’s myriad difficulties and determine how best to strengthen the AU’s intervention in its different conflicts.
