House of Representatives Gives Ultimatum to ITF Over N3 Billion Discrepancy

The House of Representatives, in its ongoing examination of the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper, has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) to account for the whereabouts of N3 billion highlighted in the Auditor General for the Federation’s 2022 report. The Chairman of the Committee on Finance, overseeing the interactive session with heads of Federal Government agencies, delivered the directive at the National Assembly Complex.

Additionally, the House directed the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to provide an explanation for the expenditure of N291 billion in 2022 on broadband infrastructure nationwide, noting concerns about the quality of services despite the substantial investment.

Further details on these financial inquiries are expected to be disclosed in the coming days.
