House Speaker Appoints New Panel to Probe Petroleum Industry

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has appointed a seven-member panel to join a joint committee investigating alleged economic sabotage in Nigeria’s petroleum and gas industry. The new committee, which replaces a previously dissolved ad-hoc committee, will be co-chaired by House Leader Prof. Julius Ihonvbere.

Other members include Hon. Iduma Ighariwey, Hon. Gboyega N. Isiaka, Hon. Sada Soli, Fatima Talba, Hon. Tunji Raheem, and Hon. Patrick Umoh, PhD. The committee has been tasked with ensuring accountability and transparency in the sector and will begin its work immediately, collaborating closely with the Senate to address the pressing issues in the industry.
