The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has produced 184,438 permanent voters’ cards (PVCs) for new registrants and other categories in preparation for the upcoming Edo State governorship election.
The INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, announced that these PVCs have been printed and sent to the INEC office in Benin City, ready for distribution to the electorate in all 192 wards from August 22 to 26, 2024.

Yakubu also confirmed that the governorship elections for Edo and Ondo states are scheduled for September 21 and November 16, 2024, respectively. INEC has also developed a register with the names and photos of the new voters to make the collection process easier. Yakubu emphasized that voters must collect their PVCs in person and encouraged them to participate in the upcoming elections.
