Israel’s army has announced the discovery of approximately 1,500 bodies of Hamas militants within Israeli territory around the Gaza Strip. The announcement comes as Israel continues to conduct air strikes on the Palestinian enclave.
According to military spokesman Richard Hecht, the Israeli security forces have “more or less restored control over the border” with Gaza, and since the previous night, no further infiltrations have occurred. Hecht added that the evacuation of communities around the border was nearing completion.
The Israeli military has deployed 35 battalions to the border area, with plans to build infrastructure for future operations. Israel is currently facing an attack by Hamas militants who breached the border fence and launched rocket attacks, resulting in casualties on both sides.
In response, Israel has carried out extensive air and artillery strikes targeting Hamas positions in the Gaza Strip, resulting in casualties among Gaza’s population.
The situation remains volatile, with ongoing hostilities in the region.
