Despite the pressure from Joe Biden’s party telling him to step down in the presidential race, He has rejected the advice to step down and has decided to remain in the race for the 2024 Presidential Election.
In a statement issued from his Delaware beach home, where he is currently isolating due to a COVID-19 diagnosis, the 81-year-old president expressed his resolve to continue his campaign.
“The stakes are high, and the choice is clear. Together, we will win,” Biden stated, emphasizing his assurance to overcome the challenges ahead.
He has decided to return to the campaign trail next week, signalling a swift recovery from his illness, as confirmed by his physician.
“Sadly, President Biden has a choice — vanity or virtue,” Moritz told the New York Times.
Despite the pressure, Joe Biden’s campaign team remains confident in his candidacy. Campaign chairwoman Jen O’Malley Dillon told MSNBC’s Morning Joe program that the president is more committed than ever to defeating Donald Trump.
“Absolutely the president’s in this race,” she affirmed, acknowledging some decline in support but maintaining that Biden is still the best candidate to secure a Democratic victory.
