In a collaborative operation between the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force, two National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members who had been kidnapped by bandits in the Yargoje community, Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State, have been successfully rescued.
The two corps members were abducted by the criminals while traveling from Edo State to Katsina State. The daring effort of the security forces, led by the troops of the 17 Brigade Nigerian Army, resulted in the safe extrication and return of the abducted individuals.
Brig. Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, issued a statement on Friday confirming the successful rescue operation. He commended the swift response and determination of the joint effort of the 17 Brigade Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Police, which ensured the victims’ safe return.
The rescued NYSC members are presently receiving essential medical care and support to ensure their physical and emotional well-being. They are currently under the custody of the Nigerian Police in Kankara.
