“Kaduna CAN Urges Nigerians to Respect PEPT Judgment”

Rev. John Hayab, the Kaduna State chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has called on Nigerians to uphold respect for the nation’s judiciary and unite for the progress of the country. His plea came following the judgment of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal in Abuja on Wednesday, September 6, which upheld President Bola Tinubu’s election victory in the February 25 presidential election.

Hayab emphasized the importance of respecting the judicial system for the sake of peace and harmonious coexistence in Nigeria. He urged Nigerians not to let political differences divide the country but to unite and work with the leader chosen by the court’s ruling for the country’s development.

The clergyman advised against engaging in activities that could lead to chaos and destabilize the nation’s growth. He also called on politicians and all Nigerians to accept the tribunal’s judgment and allow the rule of law to take its course, even if the judgment did not align with their expectations. Hayab emphasized the enduring nature of the country compared to the transient nature of politicians and urged citizens to prioritize the nation’s progress over divisive actions.
