Kano Bans Durbar for Eid Over Security Fears

The Kano State Police Command has banned all Durbar activities during the 2025 Eid-El-Fitr celebrations, citing security concerns. Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori announced the decision, saying intelligence reports warned of possible disruptions.

To ensure safety, the police urged worshippers to follow security protocols and avoid reckless activities like horse riding and car racing. Residents were also advised to report any suspicious movements.

This comes after the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, canceled his Sallah Durbar plans, while the 16th Emir, Muhammadu Sanusi, continued preparations following the governor’s directive.
