Kenneth Okonkwo, former spokesperson for the Labour Party’s presidential campaign council, has commended Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, for saving the party from potential anarchy. Okonkwo highlighted that the recent stakeholders’ meeting hosted by Governor Otti in Abia was effectively a National Executive Council (NEC) gathering that helped restore order within the party.
In a statement on Wednesday, Okonkwo urged Labour Party members to unite behind the Nenadi Usman-led National Caretaker Committee, which has been tasked with organizing a national convention within 90 days. He emphasized the importance of this unity for the party’s progress and the upcoming convention, calling it a chance to move beyond the previous transactional leadership.
