Talented musician Khaid recently shared his journey as an aspiring artist and revealed that he reached out to his colleague, Rema, in the hopes that Rema could introduce him to music executive Don Jazzy.
Khaid, currently signed to comedian Sydney Talker’s label, Neville Records, discussed this on a recent episode of the Zero Conditions podcast. He explained that during his early days in the music industry, he was determined to secure a contract with Mavin Records.
Khaid expressed his dedication to making it in the industry, even offering Rema one million Naira if he could help him get a record deal with Mavin Records. However, he lamented that his messages to Rema went unanswered.
He recounted, “Rema if you are seeing this, please take heart. I actually went to Rema’s [Instagram] DM one day with my old account and sent my freestyle video to him. I said, ‘Bro, I know that you trap like me. Please, help me show this video to Don Jazzy. Let him sign me so that we will be in the same record label.
“He didn’t see the message. At that time, I was texting him with all emotions in me, bro. I was texting him with prayers. I was willing to give him my first 1 million,” he shared.
Khaid shared that he sent the message with heartfelt emotions and prayers, and he was genuinely prepared to offer Rema his first one million Naira.
