Kwankwaso Accuses Lagos of Interfering in Kano Affairs

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has accused Lagos State of trying to dominate other regions, particularly Kano, due to alleged support from the federal government. He expressed concerns over what he views as favoritism toward Lagos by President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Speaking at Skyline University’s convocation in Kano, Kwankwaso alleged that Lagos State is even attempting to influence Kano’s selection of its emir, describing this as unacceptable interference. He suggested that Lagos is receiving disproportionate attention from the government, with substantial projects directed to the state at the expense of others.

These statements highlight ongoing regional tensions and concerns over perceived imbalances under Tinubu’s leadership, with some feeling that federal resources and influence have been concentrated in Lagos.
