Kwankwaso Urges Northern Leaders to Back Tinubu for 2027

APC chieftain Ilyasu Musa Kwankwaso has called on northern politicians to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, emphasizing the strategic importance of securing the presidency for the North in 2031. Speaking in Kano on Sunday, Kwankwaso warned that if Tinubu is not re-elected, the North might face an eight-year delay before power shifts back to the region.

Kwankwaso criticized divisive campaigns and opposition to Tinubu from certain northern factions, stressing that unity is essential for achieving the region’s long-term goals. He also dismissed concerns about security challenges, pointing to efforts led by Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, in addressing banditry across the North.

Addressing speculation about former Kano governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s potential vice-presidential run, Ilyasu Kwankwaso cautioned that such moves could push the North’s chances of regaining power to 2035. He concluded by urging northerners to support Tinubu, emphasizing that their efforts and prayers are crucial for peace and progress in the country.
