The Labour Party (LP) has expressed confidence in its ability to win the 2027 presidential election without forming alliances or coalitions. Dispelling rumors of a merger with Rabiu Kwankwaso’s NNPP or Atiku Abubakar’s PDP, the LP insisted its performance in the 2023 elections proves it can independently challenge the ruling APC.
LP National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, emphasized the party’s strong grassroots support and its alignment with the aspirations of Nigerians. He stated that in 2023, the LP secured millions of votes without external alliances, showcasing its strength. According to Ifoh, the party’s vision and policies resonate deeply with Nigerians who are disillusioned by the current administration.
While not ruling out the possibility of future coalitions, Ifoh clarified that no formal discussions have taken place. He added that any coalition proposal would be carefully evaluated, highlighting that the LP remains focused on standing as a strong, independent force for change in Nigeria.
