The Labour Party (LP) leadership has decided to rename the ‘Obidient’ directorate following backlash over its composition and naming. Over 200 support groups, including the ‘Obidient Movement’, criticized the LP leadership for setting up the directorate and naming individuals as directors.
In response to the controversy, the LP’s National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, announced that the directorate will now be known as the Directorate of Mobilisation and Integration. The inauguration is scheduled for Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
