In a significant announcement, the National Convention of the Labour Party, the apex decision-making body, has declared its intention to reserve the party’s 2027 ticket for its current leader, Peter Obi.
Reported by Findwhosabi News, the convention, held in Nnewi, Anambra State, also extended a right of first refusal to Abia State Governor, Alex Oti, should he choose to seek re-election on the party’s platform.

According to the communique, the Convention endorsed Peter Gregory Obi, citing his exemplary leadership and contributions before, during, and after the 2023 General Election, for the 2027 Presidential ticket.
Furthermore, the Convention passed a vote of confidence on Governor Alex Otti for his ongoing development and performance in Abia State, recommending that the party’s 2027 gubernatorial ticket in Abia be reserved for him.
