Lagos Police Nab 4 Ojota Traffic Robbers

In a proactive move, police operatives in Lagos State have arrested four individuals accused of robbing road users in traffic along the Ojota area of the state. The Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, made the announcement in a statement released on Tuesday.
According to Hundeyin, the arrest was a result of timely information provided by one of the victims. The victim alerted the men of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), who swiftly swung into action. Three of the suspects were apprehended on Sunday, and the fourth suspect was arrested on Monday.

The statement revealed that the suspects were apprehended at around 7:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve at MKO Abiola’s Garden, Ojota. Among the arrested individuals are Wasiu Olawale (23), an ex-convict released in May 2023; Adebayo Olatunbosun (20); Wale John (28); and Uche Ugwu (25), identified as the gang leader.

During the operation, the police recovered three android phones and an ATM card. Victims who had fallen prey to the alleged robbers have come forward to identify the suspects, and they will be charged to court once the investigation is concluded.

Hundeyin stated, “Five victims have reported at the RRS Headquarters where they have positively identified the suspects. The suspects are currently assisting the squad in its investigations. They are to be charged to court as soon as investigations are completed.” The diligent efforts of the Rapid Response Squad underscore the commitment of law enforcement to ensuring the safety and security of road users in Lagos State.
