The Ogun State Police Command has successfully rescued two teenagers, Chindalu Umadi (17 years old) and Udeba David (16 years old), who were kidnapped in Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State. The teenagers were abducted and forced into a Toyota Saloon car, and they had no recollection of what happened during their captivity.
The abductors abandoned the teenagers near a riverside in Oru Ijebu, Ogun State. The police in Oru Ijebu Division rescued them during a patrol, and they were subsequently taken to the police station.
The Divisional Police Officer, CSP Mathew Ediae, interviewed the teenagers and obtained information about their ordeal. The parents of the teenagers, who had been searching for them, were contacted by the police and informed about their safe location. The teenagers will be reunited with their families once their parents arrive at the police station for identification.
The incident highlights the importance of prompt and vigilant patrolling by the police and the need for collaborative efforts to ensure the safety of Nigerians. The Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alamutu, emphasized the importance of vigilance, especially during the ember months when criminal activities tend to increase. He advised parents to be aware of their children’s whereabouts and encouraged teenagers to move in groups to minimize the risk of falling victim to criminals.
