Amarah Kennedy, a man whose name was revealed, was detained in Lagos on suspicion of exhibiting nude pictures of women he had dated.
Kennedy, according to police sources, was taken into custody by the Nigeria Police’s Gender Unit.
According to sources, the accused will shortly show up in court to defend his actions and hear the judge’s ruling.
Kennedy is reported to have dated various single women, obtained their nude images in the process of the relationship, only to later turn around and extort money from his ex-lovers with the threat of causing them disgrace and public ridicule by releasing their nude photos in the public realm.
According to police sources, this activity clearly fits into the definition of blackmail and is punishable in court.
The source claimed that when they stopped providing him money, “he would send the photos to someone on Facebook.”
He would visit the woman’s Facebook profile and message her friends one of the pictures. When she discovers, she will immediately send him money.
“He kept doing that up until he uploaded it to the widow’s WhatsApp group for the church. Additionally, he forwarded it to the deceased wife’s in-laws.
Only two of the ten women who were allegedly used by Kennedy are willing to pursue his prosecution, it is reported.
