Lagos lawmaker Hon. Bonu Solomon Saanu has praised President Bola Tinubu for his leadership, saying it is attracting top opposition figures to the All Progressives Congress (APC). He made this statement during a plenary session at the Lagos Assembly, following the defection of Senator Ned Nwoko from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.
Nwoko, who represented Delta North, resigned from the PDP on January 30, 2025, citing deep divisions within the party. Hon. Bonu described his defection as proof of Tinubu’s achievements, stating that Nigerians are recognizing the President’s commitment to progress.
The lawmaker expressed confidence that more opposition members would join the APC before the 2027 elections, including Hon. Foluke Oshafile, the only Labour Party member in the Lagos Assembly.
