Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has cautioned the All Progressives Congress (APC) against actions that could destabilize Osun State, urging all parties to follow legal processes rather than resort to self-help. Speaking in Osogbo during the swearing-in of newly elected local government chairmen, Makinde, representing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, emphasized that disputes should be resolved through the judiciary to maintain peace.
Makinde warned that Osun must not become a battleground for political conflicts, stressing that governance should focus on delivering results rather than fueling unnecessary tensions. He urged the APC to avoid disruptive activities, reaffirming PDP’s commitment to stability and the rule of law. He also criticized the misuse of federal influence, stating that political power must not override due process.
Calling for peace, Makinde reminded political actors that enforcing court decisions must follow proper legal channels. He congratulated the newly sworn-in chairmen and encouraged them to focus on grassroots development, emphasizing that leadership should be about service, not conflict.
