According to the Rivers State Police Command, its agents have detained a 42-year-old man who goes by the name Kolawale for allegedly defiling his 13-year-old female housekeeper at Eneka’s Ejekwu Street in the state’s Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
As reports stated, the suspect, a father of three, was apprehended by the state police’s human rights unit on Monday as a result of a complaint from worried neighbors who the teenage girl reportedly rushed to after the suspect allegedly defiled her.
A source who wished to remain anonymous said that, Kolawale works on oil rigs and has been having affairs with the girl whenever he was in town, keeping his wife in the dark.
The girl has been living with the man and his wife, who are both married and have three children. He works on rigs and is typically absent. He returns from vacation and spends weeks at work.
When he is in town and his wife is not present, he frequently gets his way with his 13-year-old housekeeper. They have been hosting the girl for a while.
“I believe the girl had become weary of the situation but was unable to flee or avoid him. So, this time, when he got home from work, he tried to get her to sleep with him, but she declined.
She resisted him, fled the facility, and told some of the residents what had been happening. The women among them took her in for examination and found evidence of penetration of her private area.
He added that the women took the girl to the state Ministry of Justice where they filed a formal complaint because they were outraged by the discovery and appalled at the extent of the damage caused by the repeated penetration of the youngster.
So, in reality, the Ministry of Justice was now responsible for reporting to the human rights department at the Moscow Road police headquarters. The cops have been keeping an eye on the man since they got the report since he wasn’t steady.
“They (police) moved in and arrested him on Monday morning after getting word that he returned on Sunday,” the person said.
Additionally, it was learned that the teenager’s private area had been invaded, according to the results of a medical checkup.
When reached, Grace Iringe-Koko, a spokeswoman for the state police command, verified the event and the man’s arrest, adding that an investigation was still going on.
Superintendent of Police Iringe-Koko said, “Yes, I can confirm the occurrence. The suspect has been taken into jail after being arrested. The inquiry is underway.
