A man known as Alabo has been arrested by the Rivers State Police Command for allegedly attacking his female tenant and her husband. The incident occurred on May 15, 2022, in Mile 3, Diobu, Port Harcourt, when the landlord reportedly became violent after the female tenant rejected his romantic advances. The landlord allegedly used a machete to inflict several cuts on the woman.
Upon her husband’s intervention, he was also attacked and received machete cuts. The landlord fled the scene after the assaults. The police had been trailing Alabo for months before finally apprehending him on Sunday.
The female tenant, Comfort Nwagadi, confirmed the arrest and expressed her desire for justice. The case file has been transferred from the Azikiwe Police Division to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department Unit of the command.
The police spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, mentioned that she would inquire further from the Azikiwe Police Station to provide additional information.
