Godstime Ekanem, a man, is accused of breaking into Mrs. Jelila Oyinbo’s room at MTN Estate in the Mowe-Ofada neighborhood of the Obafemi-Owode LGA and making an attempt to rape her.
After the event, Mrs. Oyinbo allegedly told the police that the suspect had a pattern of sexually harassing her despite her repeated warnings and declarations that she was married.
The command’s spokesman, Omolola Odutola, released the following statement: “On September 26, 2023, at or around 8:00 a.m., Ekanem entered her matrimonial house and attacked her with the intention of having illicit carnal knowledge of her.
“While Ekanem hid himself in the toilet, she wrestled with him and alerted her brother-in-law, one Michael Oyewole, who came running to the house to save Jelila.
“Michael and Ekanem got into a fight in the bathroom, where he was struck with a hammer and acquired bruises on his hand. Ekanem received a severe slash to the skull from Michael as payback.
