Mizanmil Abubakar, 29, has confessed to security operatives about the reason behind the murder of his biological father. Naija News reports that Abubakar committed this heinous act in the Barin-Sale area of Minna, Niger State’s capital.
According to Abubakar’s confession to security operatives, his deep-seated hatred for his father drove him to commit the crime.
SP Wasiu Abiodun, Public Relations Officer of the Niger State Police Command, detailed the incident in a statement released on Tuesday, July 30, 2024.
The report reveals that on July 29, around 10 am, the Kpakungu Police Division received information that 65-year-old Abubakar Adawa was missing from his home in the Barkin-Sale area of Minna.
“Police officers from the Division, led by the DPO, visited the residence and summoned Mizanmil Abubakar and his mother, Aisha Abubakar, for questioning,” Abiodun stated.
During a thorough search of the premises, police discovered the dismembered body of the missing man buried in a shallow grave within the compound.
The suspect admitted to the murder during questioning, revealing he used a hoe to kill and dismember his father before burying him.
The police spokesperson indicated that the investigation is ongoing, and the suspect will soon be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Minna for further investigation and prosecution.
