The management of late Nigerian music artist Mohbad has announced a candlelight procession and tribute night to honor the artist. Mohbad, a former signee of Naira Marley’s Marlian Records, passed away at the age of 27. Fans and sympathizers have called for a proper investigation into the cause of his death.
The candlelight procession will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Lekki Phase 1 Gate at 5 pm, followed by a Tribute Concert at Muri Okunola Park in Lagos State starting at 8 pm.
In response to Mohbad’s death, some youths in Abeokuta, Ogun State, and Delta State have taken to the streets to demand justice. They gathered with placards and chanted slogans calling for justice.
The Lagos State Police Command has also set up a special investigative team to probe the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death, and they are expected to submit an interim report within two weeks. The investigation will cover various aspects, including exhumation, autopsy, scene visit, and witness statements.
