Minister Salako Launches Climate Project, Links Am to Government Plans

Abuja – Minister of State for Environment, Dr Iziaq Salako, don yarn say climate action dey very important to make the eight presidential priorities wey the current government talk fit happen. Im talk dis one for Abuja on Friday during di launch of a project wey dey map climate change wahala and policies for Nigeria 36 states.

Salako talk say e go need make every level of government and every person for Nigeria join hand waka make dem fit address environmental wahala and climate change well-well.

Di mapping project get aim to show how climate change dey affect di 36 states for Nigeria and e go find out how each of dis state fit get support to take do climate change policy well-well.

Di minister talk say different parts of Nigeria get different wahala with climate. For example, northern areas get serious problem with tins like drought and desertification.

E talk say dem don use di mapping project check how each state sabi climate matter, wetin dem don do so far, and wetin dem need to do better. E talk say e go helep dem see where to put resources for di areas wey need quick help.

Some people wey talk for di event na lawmakers Hon. Sam Onuigbo and Gov. Mohammed Bago. Onuigbo talk say make governors and local council chairmen find money put for climate change work based on the new check wey dem do.

Bago talk about how Niger State don dey try stop climate change, including when dem organise summit to talk about better policies. Im talk say di government and people for Niger State dey show example for climate action.
