Late singer and songwriter, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as MohBad, has recently been featured on the Times Square billboard in New York.
Videos and images showcasing MohBad’s posthumous appearance on the iconic billboard located in Broadway Times Square, New York City, have circulated online.
This significant recognition places MohBad in the ranks of esteemed Nigerian celebrities such as Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Tems, and others who have graced the New York Times Square billboard.
The billboard tribute for the late Imole reads: “Will be remembered forever, MohBad. Legends are never forgotten. R.I.P.”
As a reminder, the 27-year-old artist passed away on September 12, 2023, and was laid to rest in Ikorodu, Lagos State, the following day.
MohBad’s untimely demise sparked widespread reactions, with some Nigerians pointing fingers at his former boss, Naira Marley, and music promoter, Sam Larry, as possibly being connected to his death.
This outcry led to calls for justice, and demonstrations took place in Lagos, Ogun, and other regions of the country, demanding that the police apprehend those responsible for MohBad’s passing.
Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun, in response to MohBad’s demise, ordered a forensic investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding his death.
Following the IGP’s directive, Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Idowu Owohunwa, assembled a ten-member team, which included a pathologist, to exhume and probe into the circumstances of MohBad’s death.
