Mohbad’s Lawyer Calls for Coroner’s Inquest

A lawyer named Festus Ogun, representing his law firm, has written a formal letter to the Attorney General of Lagos State, Moyosore Onigbanjo, requesting a Coroner’s Inquest into the suspicious death of Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

According to reports from Findwhosabi Online, the Lagos Police Command had recently established a 13-member special investigation team to look into the mysterious death of Mohbad.

In his statement on Monday, Ogun highlighted the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s demise, pointing out that there were videos circulating on social media where the singer was seen expressing agony and lamenting the pain he had endured at the hands of certain individuals. He further mentioned credible reports suggesting that Mohbad had been persistently bullied, harassed, tortured, assaulted, and intimidated, even leading up to his death.

Ogun expressed concern about the contradictory and unconvincing accounts provided by individuals who were with Mohbad before and at the time of his death. He criticized the hasty burial of the artist, deeming it suspicious and calling for further investigation.

The lawyer invoked Sections 14 and 15 of the Coroner’s Systems Law of Lagos State, formally requesting a Coroner’s Inquest to thoroughly investigate and determine the circumstances and cause of Mohbad’s death. He also urged the Attorney General to exercise the authority under Section 17 of the Coroner’s System Law, which allows for the exhumation of the deceased’s body for a comprehensive autopsy.

Ogun expressed confidence in the competence and integrity of the Lagos State Coroner System and hoped that the findings of the Coroner’s Inquest would be made public and followed by appropriate sanctions for those found responsible for any wrongdoing in connection with Mohbad’s death. He emphasized that this request was made in the interest of justice and fairness.
