Mother Catches Suspect In Zaria Who Kidnapped, Killed Her Daughter

A mother in Zaria has been successful in apprehending a suspect who allegedly kidnapped her daughter and demanded ransom.

According to a security source, Aminu Ibrahim, 35, was suspected of kidnapping Fatima Adamu, 23, killing her, and burying the body.
The kidnapped young woman’s mother, Mallama Nana Fatima, said in a statement from her home that the depth of her grief prevented her from going any further.

Hajara Adamu, the victim’s younger sister, revealed that Fatima had gone to Kaduna expecting to stay for four days.
Hajara stated that after she failed to show up at the scheduled hour, numerous calls to her went unanswered.

Later, she claimed, a man answered the phone and reported to them that he had kidnapped Fatima and was holding her for N100,000 in ransom.

The money was raised and presented to the suspect at a designated location in Wusasa, Zaria, the family said.

The sister went on to say that despite promising to release the victim that day, the suspect was unable to follow through. He called back after three days and requested an additional N100,000.
At this point, the mother and sister sold her land parcel and brought the proceeds to the agreed-upon meeting location in Wusasa. There, she spotted and recognized the suspect as he got off a commercial motorcycle known as an “okada.”

According to reports, the suspect admitted to the crime and led the police to his home in Limancin Iya, Zaria, where he was thought to have interred the kidnapped teenager.

Ibrahim admitted to taking part in kidnappings in the area during the initial investigation.

He revealed that the victim passed away while in their care, and that they buried her at his home in Limanchin Iya.

ASP Mansir Hassan, the acting police public relations officer for Kaduna State Command, confirmed the suspect’s detention and stated that an investigation was still going on.
