Naira Marley Experiences a Significant Drop of 500k Instagram Followers Yet Again

The decline in the singer’s Instagram followers can be attributed to the allegations surrounding his involvement with his former signee, Mohbad, who tragically passed away. There were claims that both he and his associate, Sammy Larry, were implicated in the untimely death of Mohbad, suggesting emotional and physical mistreatment after the singer’s departure from the Marlians record label.

At the time of Mohbad’s unfortunate demise on September 12, 2023, Naira Marley boasted around 7.5 million dedicated followers on Instagram. However, his follower count began to dwindle as more reports and allegations emerged, accusing him of playing a role in the tragedy. Currently, he has approximately 6.9 million followers on the platform.

The decision to boycott Naira Marley, his music, and his record label largely stems from the grieving fans of Mohbad. They have expressed their displeasure towards Marley openly, flooding the comment sections of his posts. These fans have been vocal in their demands for justice for the late singer, both on social media and through peaceful protests.

In response to the allegations, Marley released a statement through his label, emphasizing his deep affection for Mohbad, denying any harm done to him, and joining the call for justice. He also changed his profile picture on the platform to that of Mohbad. However, despite his efforts, many remained skeptical and continued to demand his arrest and interrogation, along with Sammy Larry.

The Nigerian police force has taken official action by launching an investigation into the sudden death of Mohbad. Additionally, they have contacted the chief coroner to conduct an autopsy in order to determine the cause of the tragic incident.
