Naira Marley Sets Condition for His Return: Police Must Ensure Safety

In a recent interview with former presidential aide Reno Omokri, Azeez Fashola, widely known as Naira Marley and the head of Marlian Label, expressed his determination to return to Nigeria and clear his name regarding the controversy surrounding the death of his former label signee, Mohbad.

Naira Marley emphasized that numerous negative narratives have been circulated about him by the media, leading to public bias. He mentioned that he would willingly come back to the country if the police can ensure his safety.

When asked if he would consider returning to Nigeria if the police could guarantee his safety, Naira Marley responded with confidence, stating, “100 per cent, if they can guarantee my safety, I will be there.”

In a related context, Naira Marley revealed that Mohbad had struggled with suicidal thoughts on several occasions. He recalled an incident when he received a call from Mohbad’s girlfriend in America, reporting that Mohbad had locked himself in the bathroom and expressed intentions of self-harm. Naira Marley, concerned for Mohbad’s well-being, engaged him in a recorded conversation, offering support and encouragement to address the issues troubling him.

During the conversation, Naira Marley stressed the importance of seeking help and not succumbing to despair, reminding Mohbad that he was valued and urging him to communicate openly with his family to alleviate any stress he may have been experiencing.
