Lawal Michael Nasiru Bolaji, better known by his stage as Nasboi, has revealed why he began his career by imitating Davido.
Nasboi, who debuted as “Low Budget OBO” on the Nigerian entertainment scene, claimed that he was imitating the DMW leader in order to catch his attention.
The comedian made this revelation lately while participating in the interview section of MTV Base Naija Top 10.
He claimed that his goal was to catch Davido’s eye and impress him with his musical prowess.
“I started off imitating Davido,” he declared. The goal was to draw David’s attention to my music as a result. I bothered this man until one day he invited me, at which point I started playing my music.
On why he became a skit maker, Nasboi said, “It [my mimics of Davido] started looking like cruise to everybody. So, I said, okay, let’s jump on it. That’s how I jumped on it and it started looking like it demanded for me to start making skits. So, I had no option than to make skits.”
