Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of bias in handling the recall process against her. In a letter dated March 26, 2025, released by her lawyer, she questioned why INEC allowed corrections instead of rejecting the petition outright.
INEC had earlier stated that the recall petition was defective due to missing contact details of petitioners but gave them a chance to fix the errors. Natasha, however, argued that this shows INEC is taking sides instead of acting neutrally.

She insisted that the commission should have declared the petition invalid, accusing it of playing the role of an adviser rather than an independent body.
