Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has firmly turned down an out-of-court settlement suggested by the lawyer of Senate President Godswill Akpabio. Natasha, who accused Akpabio of sexual harassment, said she wants justice, not a quiet settlement. “It’s not about settlement. It’s about justice,” she said in an interview.
She questioned why anyone would try to silence her after what she went through. “Nobody should face this kind of intimidation just for speaking the truth,” she added. She also said Akpabio’s behavior sends a wrong message to President Tinubu’s government and insisted that he must face investigation.

In response, Akpabio’s lawyer, Olisa Agbakoba (SAN), asked Natasha to provide more proof of her claims. He pointed out that her actions—especially praising Akpabio on social media the day after the alleged incident—seem confusing. While he didn’t fully deny the possibility of harassment, he said the case must be handled carefully and fairly to avoid misuse of such serious accusations.
