Nathaniel Bassey Denies Performing at Trump’s Inauguration

Renowned Christian music minister and pastor, Nathaniel Bassey, has clarified reports suggesting he was invited to perform at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20th. The reports, which gained traction online and in traditional media, were described by Bassey as misleading.

The Akwa Ibom-born cleric explained that the event in question, the Presidential Prayer Breakfast, is not an official part of the inauguration. He stated that the breakfast is a faith-based, non-governmental gathering focused on offering prayers for the office of the president and the U.S. government. The event traditionally takes place once every four years, just before the inauguration of new U.S. presidents, but it holds no direct ties to the incoming president.

Nathaniel Bassey further clarified that while the breakfast is a global platform for intercession and worship, it should not be confused with the official inauguration ceremony. He urged the public to disregard false reports and emphasized that his participation in the prayer event, should it occur, is purely spiritual and unrelated to politics.
