NDFF Set For its 6th Conference in Abuja

The Nigeria Development and Finance Forum (NDFF) is gearing up for its much-anticipated 2024 Conference, set to take place in Abuja. According to a report by Findwhosabi News, this event follows the resounding success of five previous editions, hosted in some of the world’s prominent financial hubs, including London, New York, and Washington DC.

The NDFF serves as a prestigious assembly, bringing together leaders from the public, private, social, and international sectors. The upcoming conference is scheduled for the 8th and 9th of May 2024 at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, as revealed by a statement from the organizer, Financial Nigeria International Limited

Themed “The Road to Economic and Social Welfare Transformation,” the NDFF 2024 Conference aims to lend strong support to a comprehensive and transformative reform agenda for the Nigerian economy. The two-day event will feature plenary sessions on Day 1, concentrating on the Federal Government’s three primary focus areas – fiscal policy, monetary policy, and social welfare. Day 2 will showcase special briefings and industry-focused sessions.

Tony Usidamen, Project Director for NDFF 2024 Conference, emphasized, “The overarching aim of the conference is to provide clarity on how Nigeria and Nigerians will transition from the current acute economic, market, and social welfare stress to stability, growth, and progress.”

Jide Akintunde, CEO of Financial Nigeria and Convener of NDFF, acknowledged the recent market reforms by the new government but highlighted the short-term economic challenges faced by many Nigerians. He expressed optimism that these reforms could lead to long-term stability and sustainable growth, emphasizing the need for clarity and complementary policies to bolster investor confidence.

Key topics for Day One discussions include “The Road to Economic and Social Welfare Transformation,” “Macroeconomic and Financial Stability: Communicating the Outlook,” “Revitalizing Industries and Markets,” and “Transforming Nigeria’s Population Health: Crowding in Policy, Market, and Social Actions.” Day Two will focus on the Green Economy, Blue Economy, and showcase reform agendas and investment opportunities in selected states.

The conference boasts an impressive lineup of keynote speakers and high-level panelists, including eminent figures from Nigeria’s public, private, and social sectors. An announcement regarding a world-renowned economist from the United States is expected soon, adding a global perspective to the discussions.
