The National Examination Council (NECO) has officially released the results of the 2023 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) conducted internally. The Registrar of NECO, Prof. Dantani Wushishi, announced the results on Tuesday, providing a summary of the overall performance.
Key highlights of the NECO SSCE 2023 results include:
- Pass Rate: Approximately 61.60% of candidates achieved a passing grade by scoring five credits, including English and Mathematics.
- Total Candidates: A total of 1,205,888 candidates registered for the examination.
- Candidates Who Sat: Out of the registered candidates, 1,196,985 actually sat for the exams.
- Gender Breakdown: Of the candidates who sat for the examination, 616,398 were male, while 580,587 were female.
- Candidates with 5 Credits and Above: A total of 737,308 candidates secured five credits or more, including English and Mathematics.
- Candidates with 5 Credits (Irrespective of English and Mathematics): A significant majority, 1,013,611 candidates (representing 84.68%), achieved five credits or more, irrespective of their performance in English and Mathematics.
While these results provide a snapshot of the performance in the NECO SSCE 2023, they also highlight the substantial number of candidates who achieved academic success.
