The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has launched an investigation into a shocking viral video showing a police officer strangling an Uber driver while the car was in motion on an expressway. The video, shared by an anonymous X user known as Omolomo, has sparked outrage online.
The post read: “In case you see this please you only have one duty, tag #Princemoye1 #PoliceNG and #PoliceNG_CRU. Let them see how an officer of the law is strangling a driver in motion.” The video, which quickly gained traction, depicted the officer gripping the driver’s neck while a woman in the car screamed for help.
Reacting to the incident, Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi called for an immediate investigation. He tweeted: “Where is this again? Can we have more information about it? Thanks. #PoliceNG, #PoliceNG_CRU, take up this and investigate, please. Thanks.”
Police Arrest Man for Allegations Against E-money
In a related development, the Nigeria Police Force has arrested an individual who accused Nigerian billionaire Emeka Okonkwo, known as E-money, of having a romantic affair with Jennifer, the wife of the late Nollywood actor Junior Pope.
Social media users and Instagram blogs had alleged that E-money was partly responsible for Junior Pope’s death and had a relationship with his widow. E-money vehemently denied the allegations in an Instagram statement, calling the claims disrespectful to the deceased’s memory and hurtful to the grieving family.
E-money has expressed his determination to identify and hold accountable those spreading these false allegations.
