In a significant development, troops of the Nigerian Army have conducted a successful operation, rescuing six kidnapped victims and neutralizing one bandit in the Hayin Tsando general area of Maraban Jos, located in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State. This operation was disclosed by Lt. Col. Musa Yahaya, the acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the 1 Division, Nigerian Army, in a statement released on Saturday.
During the operation, the troops not only rescued the abducted individuals but also recovered two AK47 rifles. Additionally, one of the bandits was eliminated, while others managed to escape with varying degrees of gunshot wounds.
Yahaya stated, “The ongoing clearance operation by troops of 1 Division Nigerian Army has continued to yield positive results. The gallant troops quickly mobilized and embarked on a search and rescue operation. The troops made contact with bandits/criminal elements, and a heavy firefight ensued.”
Maj Gen Valentine Okoro, the General Officer Commanding 1 Division Nigerian Army and Force Commander Operation with Findwhosabi, commended the bravery and dedication of the troops. He urged them to maintain their aggressive stance until all criminal elements within the division’s area of responsibility were entirely eradicated.
