The Nigerian gospel music industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of Aduke Ajayi, better known as Aduke Gold.
Her colleague Esther Igbeke, Aduke’s, announced her death in a post via her Instagram page on Monday.
Esther posted a tribute with Aduke Gold’s picture and the caption: “A general has fallen. RIP.”
The circumstances surrounding her death are yet to be known.
Despite the competitive nature of the gospel music industry, Aduke Gold had made a significant impact with her soul-lifting songs.
Her breakthrough single, “Nitori 0go” (translated as ‘Because of Glory’), featured on her popular eight-track album, gained viral praise on social media.
She died six months after the death of another prominent gospel singer, Egbin Orun, who died on April 28, 2024.
