A Nigerian pilgrim, Aishatu y’an Guru Nahuce, is receiving widespread acclaim for her remarkable act of honesty during the 2023 Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia. Amidst millions of Muslims visiting the holy city of Mecca, Aishatu discovered a substantial sum of money amounting to approximately 56 million Nigerian Naira. Demonstrating unwavering integrity, she promptly returned the $80,000 to its rightful owner.
The Independent Hajj Reporters of Nigeria shared Aishatu’s inspiring story on their Facebook page. Alongside her photo, they expressed admiration for her actions, stating, “Hajiya Aishatu y’an Guru Nahuce from Bungudu LGA of Zamfara State found $80,000 (N56,000,000) and handed it over to the Zamfara Pilgrims Welfare Agency official for onward return to the owner. May Almighty Allah reward her honesty and accept her Hajj. Amen.”
