Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has arrived in the United States to participate in the African Development Bank’s (AfDB) World Food Prize and the Norman E. Borlaug International Dialogue. The dialogue, facilitated by the AfDB World Food Prize, is scheduled to begin on October 24 in Iowa, USA.
During his visit, Vice President Shettima is expected to attend high-stakes meetings with manufacturers, investors, and top government officials across several U.S. states. The dialogue will bring together distinguished African leaders, including the late former United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan, World Food Prize Laureates, African heads of state, and other prominent figures.
The Vice President’s primary focus is to highlight the potential of Nigeria’s agricultural sector, attract investors, and garner support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s initiatives and programs aimed at further developing Nigeria’s agro-food sector.
This visit underscores the importance of international collaboration in addressing global food security challenges and promoting investment in agriculture.
