NNPP Accuses APC National Chairman Ganduje of Betrayal

The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has leveled strong accusations against Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), branding him an ungrateful politician who betrayed his former mentor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.

NNPP, in an interview with their National Publicity Secretary, Yakubu Shendam, expressed their views on the ongoing feud between Ganduje and Kwankwaso, both prominent political figures from Kano State.

According to Shendam, Ganduje’s recent derogatory remarks about Kwankwaso, whom he referred to as a “serial loser,” were met with disdain by NNPP. Shendam went on to highlight Ganduje’s political history, suggesting that he owed his current stature to Kwankwaso’s support.

Shendam remarked, “It is unfortunate that people don’t show gratitude. It is unfortunate that people like Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, is an ungrateful person, let me use that word. If he is not ungrateful, he will not sit down in his office and begin to cast aspersions on the person of the national leader of our party.”

The NNPP spokesperson emphasized that Kwankwaso had played a pivotal role in Ganduje’s political career. He stated, “This was a man who was taken from nowhere and made a deputy governor twice. Not only that, when Mr. Kwankwaso was Defence Minister, the APC chairman was one of his Special Assistants.”

Shendam also questioned Ganduje’s consistency in his political allegiances, noting, “Ganduje was once a staunch disciple of Kwankwaso and he ‘wore the Kwankwasiyya cap.’ Today, he is wearing Asiwaju’s cap, tomorrow he will wear somebody’s cap; is he consistent here?”

Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, Shendam conveyed NNPP’s confidence in Kwankwaso’s prospects, citing his popularity and the party’s readiness to take over. He concluded by saying, “So, the NNPP is prepared to take over in 2027, and that person is our national leader; he knows that, and that is why he is worried. He is just overwhelmed and wants to make himself relevant to the party. I wish him well, however.”

The feud between Ganduje and Kwankwaso remains a matter of public interest, with political observers closely watching the developments as Nigeria approaches the next election cycle.
