The National Working Committee (NWC) of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has condemned a recent visit by former presidential candidate Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to Governor Alex Otti of Abia State. The NWC described the visit as a “deceptive move” linked to a recent court ruling that shifts the party’s administration to its Board of Trustees.
The NNPP, currently facing internal conflicts, recently expelled Kwankwaso and his allies, stating they no longer have any official standing in the party. The NWC urged Governor Otti to avoid involvement in party disputes and accused Kwankwaso of attempting to destabilize the NNPP ahead of the 2027 elections.
Reaffirming Dr. Boniface Aniebonam as chairman of the Board of Trustees, the NWC emphasized that Kwankwaso’s expulsion is final. The committee asserted that this decision is essential to restoring peace and stability within the NNPP.
